Chocolate Chai Snickerdoodles

Ingredients
2 1/4 cups sugar
1 tsp cinnamon, ground
1 tsp SHH cardamom, ground
1 tsp ginger, ground
1/2 tsp allspice, ground
1/4 tsp SHH white pepper, ground
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 ea. eggs
1/2 cup baking cocoa
1 1/4 .cup all purpose flour
1 cuo whole wheat flour
2 tsp cream of tarter
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Step by Step Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Put 1/2 cup of sugar in a small bowl. In a large bowl combine the rest of the sugar and the next 5 ingredients.
  2. Add butter to the mixture, beat until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. In another bowl whisk flour, cocoa, cream of tarter, baking soda and salt. Slowly beat into creamed mixture.
  3. Shape dough into 1 1/2 in balls, roll in 1/2 cup reserved sugar. Place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten slightly with the bottom of a glass. Bake 10-12 minutes or until edges are firm. remove to a wire rack to cool. Enjoy!
