Dawson Local Harvest:  HI GUYS!

Dawson Local Harvest for May 20

HI EVERYONE!

Every family has problems and issues which have to be dealt with, and I don’t want to bother people with personal problems, but my Mother is in assisted living. Yesterday (Sunday) they had to take her to the emergency room in Atlanta and we had to deal with all that. She’s OK, but as a consequence I am opening the Market later than usual.

We will have more of Tom’s Awesome Fresh Shrimp and a full listing of Vegetables, Milk, Eggs, Pork and Beef and all the natural products from Hanalei Bath and Farmhouse Essentials. My Daily Bread is not listing and I haven’t been able to update Bruce Will’s condition after surgery because of my own family circus, but please send thoughts and prayers to him when you can.

THE MARKET IS NOW OPEN!

REMEMBER! You can now order until Tuesday night at 9pm. Pick up your order at Leilani’s Gardens Friday afternoons from 4 to 7pm.

You’ll find the DAWSON LOCAL HARVEST at http://dawsonville.locallygrown.net

We thank you for your interest and support of our efforts to bring you the healthiest, the freshest and the most delicious locally-produced foods possible! We guarantee your satisfaction with all products in the DAWSON LOCAL HARVEST.

Have a happy and healthy week!

We offer a great variety of local farm products, and our items will be in your hands in time to plan for the weekend. Although the Saturday markets are closed for the season, wonderful local products are available for ordering from the comfort of your own computer.

More new farmers are considering joining our market, if they can expect enough sales to help pay their transportation costs. Please help us grow the market by sharing this e-mail with your friends, calling their attention to the later pickup hours, which may be more convenient for them. And if you haven’t ordered from Manchester Locally Grown for a while, please check out our wide variety of offerings this week. Also please let us know if we can improve our selection or scheduling in any way to better suit your needs.

Blessings,
Linda

24 quarts and 3 gallons berries
Swiss chard
Gai-lan (chinese broccoli)
Broc raab

Hakurei turnips
Happy rich
Garlic scapes—NEW
Collards
Kale

Seeds of Success adds Cocoa Doodle-Doo (Sun Granola), a crunchy sunflower seed “granola”. Sunflower seeds, oats, and almonds are sweetened with a cocoa agave mixture. This granola has the appeal of cocoa krispies (without the refined sugar). Sunflower seeds provide protein, minerals, and vitamins. Enjoy this granola on its own, or add it to: cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, and fruit (sliced bananas).

Chef Jenny brought some in for us to taste last week and it is DELICIOUS and chocolaty. Try some with West Wind Farms yogurt or kefir or simply pop some in the mouth for a quick snack on the go!

Double Star Bar Farms has added an incredible Pesto that is wonderful with any of his breads… even the bagels! This is a summer must-have for quick meals or additions to more formal cooking.

SweetPea, White City Produce, and Rainbow Hill have new plant additions for your summer garden and perennial herb beds.

See you all Wednesday,
