Group Buy: Fermented Cod Liver Oil (FCLO)

This weekend we will take orders for FCLO, Skate Liver Oil and other Green Pasture products.

This is a prepaid pre-order. As with all Group Buys, this item will NOT be available this Tuesday for pick up since I will be placing our order on Monday morning and due to shipping. I expect it to be available for pick up on March 1st.

This is a monthly group buy so don’t forget to order this weekend if you need some FCLO!

Lizzie’s Pantry Closeout deals- some 50% off

Lizzie’s Pantry has a few items remaining that have been reduced 50% sell final inventory. If you need oats, flax seed, wheat flour, pancake mixes, grains (buckwheat, kamut), or plastic shaker jars order this weekend!

Also, I have great news – Liz will continue to provide chemical free, organic spices to the market on a weekly basis! In addition, we will have a quarterly group buy with Liz for Georgia Olive Oil! More details to come as we get closer to buy date.

Salmon, Water Buffalo and Pastured Meats fully stocked!

(repeat)

It’s been a busy week for our farmers and fisherman!

Doug has Wild Caught Alaskan Salmon & Halibut back online! We are fully stocked with Halibut steaks, Salmon Filets, portions, burger, and smoked salmon!

Carrell Farms has ground water buffalo and sausages back on the market!

B&G has grass fed beef, pastured pork and chicken all stocked up too! Please note that the LABEL on B&G’s meat will have the processor label on it instead of the farm’s. Lynda has been trying to get her new label approved by the state of GA for 3 weeks now. They rejected it this time because the picture of GA state line was not quite straight. In order for her to have meat listed this week she asked her meat packer to put their label on her product. This is completely legal since they package the meats for her. She wants to make sure you all know that it is HER meat though not Williamsburg Packing.

Market News

The Cumming Harvest is open for orders!

We got word last week that another location is available for us and will be moving in the next few weeks. Truly, we wouldn’t have The Cumming Harvest without their overly generous support!

From now on I’ll continue to update you on our new location and the final move date to 165 Enterprise Drive, Suite I, Cumming, GA 30040. Just up the road from our current location.

Champaign, OH:  How Deep Is Your Love?

And you come to me on a summer breeze…
Keep me warm in your love and then… softly leave…
And it’s me you need to show…
How deep is your love?
(How Deep Is Your Love? Bee Gees)

So, yes…slow dance, anyone? 1977, anyone? That span of time, this music, my West Enders, our middle school, the gym decorated in the crepe paper décor of the times? The Snow Ball dance pick that always had you hoping for the coolest guy in your grade, but while you were busy applying your Bonne Bell Lip Smacker, you watched your cool guy pass right by you. The horror!! But, as silver linings always happen, you got asked to dance with the guy who would ultimately become your best friend, through thick and thin, way into life. Way into the now. The kind of friendship that stands the test of time.

And, where is that cool guy? Well, in a 1970s teen girl’s revenge, he would be crying his eyes out over his mistake in dance partners. But, in the here and now? The girl is just thankful for chances in life, and the chances that become the best moves…

What does this boogie down memory lane mean to this little market of love? Well…I guess I would just like you all to show us just how deep your love is! To take a chance on us, if you have STILL yet to choose us as a dance partner!! We are just as cool as the big box stores. We have so much to offer!! AND, we have the potential to be your life long friend!!

How Deep Is Your Love? Let’s play the Snow Ball Dance card, and see how you boogie!

The market is open until 10pm, tonight!! I will be waiting, applying my Bonne Bell, groovin’ in my bell bottoms, and waiting…

Peace, Love, Good Vibes…
Cosmic Pam

Old99Farm Market:  Old 99 Farm, week of Feb 14 2016

What a lovely drive up Hwy 86 to Wingham area, through prosperous farmland and small towns. We went last thurs and returned Saturday for a weekend at a farm B&B called MeetingPlace Farm, to participate in a course on Holistic (farm)Management. Very inspiring. The snow up there is way more than here! And we picked the coldest weekend of the year to get away! Thanks to Kazlyn for holding the fort here at home. Even had a power outage to contend with.

One of many ideas for our farm was to make regular offering of chicken broth and chicken stew meat, ready to eat. Would you be interested? Broth at $8/L and stew meat at $12/kg. It is tender flavourful and ready to use for casseroles, soups, even sandwiches.

Our greens this week survived the cold: napa cabbage is the handsdown winner followed by the perpetual green chard.
Root vegs still available: sweet and reg potatoes, onions, fresh dug carrots. Cooking apples for apple sauce or making your own apple butter are on hand. Lots of squash too.

Easter is approaching: have you thought about a leg of lamb or roast? I’ll need advance notice this week or next. Am putting lamb on special, 10% off, for the next two weeks. Whole lamb $13/kg or $5.90/lb hanging weight usually about 60lb.

Healthy eating,
Ian, Cami and Kazlyn
